Check out our mini-interviews with Ståle and the other burn riders here.
As Billabong Air & Style in Innsbruck was happening, we decided to follow Norwegian Burn Units rider Ståle Sandbech, whilst he prepared for the competition. For want of a better phrase, we were very much stalking Ståle!
The film takes a glimpse at the trials, tribulations, massive highs and lowest lows of competing at such a high level in front of a huge expectant crowd in Innsbruck, Austria. Ståle's experience truly encapsulates the team spirit the Burn Units possess, as he looks past his own injury to support team mate Werni Stock to 3rd place in an epic final battle in Innsbruck.
The film was shot by super-talented Johannes Östergård. More of his work can be found on his Vimeo page. As for Ståle Sandbech, he'll be in action once more at the Winter X Games in Europe in the Slopestyle and Super Pipe disciplines, up against fellow Burn Units Arthur Longo and Mathieu Crepel. Good luck! You can catch the action on our Facebook Live Stream.
